Welcome, from Fr. James
Welcome to St. Peter’s Anglican Church!
I am an Anglican priest serving at St. Peter’s Anglican Church in the International Diocese of the Anglican Church in North America. I committed my life to Jesus as my Lord and Savior when I was critically ill in a hospital. Jesus spoke to me through Mark 8:36 saying, "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (KJV). Through this message, I realized that my life was useless without Jesus. I then cried to God and said, “Lord Jesus, save me now and I will serve you for the rest of my life.”
I am serving at St. Peter’s today, because Jesus saved me.
St. Peter’s Anglican Church is an orthodox, creedal, Christian church and a home church for people from all nations. As prophet Isaiah says: “For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations” (Isaiah 56:7, Mark 11:17, NIV). As prophesied, people of all nations come and worship God together - here at St. Peter's Anglican Church.
At St. Peter's, we seek to worship God in the beauty of holiness (Psalm 96:9) through the holistic Anglican liturgy, traditional hymns, and charismatic worship songs, and to glorify Him through our lives each and every day. Our faith is a living faith, an active faith, a visible faith, and an ancient faith.
St. Peter's Anglican Church is a small family of Christ's lambs. Here, each member's gifts are recognized and utilized as a blessing from the Creator. We are a home and a harbor for the broken, and we seek to serve the community through supporting the disabled, the elderly, and refugees (both those from abroad and from other churches).
We do not seek to change the Holy and inerrant Word of the Lord, but to make His Word come alive in the hearts and the lives of others, through active love for our neighbors and through the beauty of Anglican worship.
Whenever you are in Memphis, Tennessee, please, come and join us for Holy Eucharist and Bible-based sermons on Sundays at 12:15 p.m.
May God bless you and prosper you in everything you do.
In Christ Jesus our Lord,
The Very Rev. James Kibe Karanja
