Dear members and friends of St. Peter's Anglican Church,

The peace pf the Lord be always with you.

GOD IS YOUR ROCK OF REFUGE.

Who is your Rock of refuge?

In Psalm 71 we read:

"In you, Lord, I have taken refuge

let me never be put to shame.

2.In your righteousness, rescue me and deliver me;

turn your ear to me and save me.

3 Be my rock of refuge,

to which I can always go;"

give the command to save me,

for you are my rock and my fortress.

4 Deliver me, my God, from the hand of the wicked,

from the grasp of those who are evil and cruel.

5 For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord,

my confidence since my youth.

6 From birth I have relied on you;

you brought me forth from my mother’s womb.

I will ever praise you."

God has always been the Rock of refuge for his people.

Psalm 46: 1-5 says:

"God is our refuge and strength,

an ever-present help in trouble."

2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way

and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,

3 though its waters roar and foam

and the mountains quake with their surging.[c]

4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,

the holy place where the Most High dwells.

5 God is within her, she will not fall;

God will help her at break of day."

Therefore , no matter what happens ,

even if the earth and the heavens boil, we will

not fear for the Lord God Almighty , the

creator of heaven and earth is with us.

Jesus is the Rock of refuge to whom we can go always.

The following hymn tell us so.

The Lord's our Rock, in Him we hide,

The Lord's our Rock, in Him we hide:

A shelter in the time of storm !

Secure whatever ill betide :

A shelter in the time of storm !

Oh, Jesus is a Rock in a weary land!

A weary land, a weary land ;

Oh, Jesus is a Rock in a weary land

A shelter in the time of storm !

22. A shade by day, defence by night

A shelter in the time of storm !

No fears alarm, no foes affright :

A shelter in the time of storm !

3. The raging storms may round us beat :

A shelter in the time of storm !

We'll never leave our safe retreat,

A shelter in the time of storm !

4. O Rock divine, O Refuge dear:

A shelter in the time of storm !

Be Thou our helper ever near,

A shelter in the time of storm !

May God bless us and help us to trust

in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and

Rock of Refuge no matter what happens.
