Dear members and friends of St. Peter's Anglican Church,
The peace of the Lord be always with you.
CHRIST CARRIES OUR DISEASES AND SORROWS.
Who carries your worries and sorrows?
Isaiah 53:4-6 says: "Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."
Jesus carried our griefs and sorrows on the cross and prayed for us saying, "Father ,forgive them: for they know not what they do." (Luke 23:34)
In Mathew 11:28 Jesus invites us to bring all our burdens to him saying: "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
May God bless us and help us to carry our burdens and sorrows to Jesus.
