Dear Members and friends of St. Peter's Anglican Church,
The peace of the Lord be always with you.
GOD BRINGS JOY TO HIS PEOPLE.
Happy Advent.
This Sunday is the Third Sunday of Advent and is marked by a pink color which is the color of joy that Christ brings to the world. God brings joy to the people He redeems.
In Isaiah 35: 3-6 we read: 3 Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; 4 say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.” 5 Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. 6 Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for JOY. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert."
God will come and give his people joy by delivering them from their distress. Jesus comes to bring joy to his people as he heals them from all their diseases.
Jesus says: 4 "Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: 5 The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy[a] are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor." (Mathew 11:4-5).
May God bless you and fill us with His joy as we always believe and trust in Jesus Christ our Lord.
" ..The joy of the LORD is your strength." (Nehemiah 8:10).

Dear members and friends of St. Peter's Anglican Church,
Happy Advent.
THE CHILDREN OF ABRAHAM.
Who are the Children of Abraham? In Mathew 3: 9 we read: 9 "And do not think you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham." The Children of Abraham are those who believe in God and live by faith in God as Abraham did.
John 1:11 says: 11 "He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God."
May God bless you and protect you with your families and friends in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
Fr. James.

Dear Members and friends of St. Peter's Anglican Church,
The peace of the Lord be always with you.
GOD ANSWERS PRAYER.
.How do you know that God answers prayers? The Bible says so. "In Isaiah 65:24 we read: 24 Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear."
As we read in the collect for today we we are supposed to read the Bible for ourselves and meditate on God's word. The collect for today says: "Blessed Lord, who caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: Grant us so to: 1. hear them, 2. read, 3 mark, 4 learn, 5. and inwardly digest them, that we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
When we read the Bible we encounter a host of God's people who prayed to God and their prayers were answered. Pray as the Bible directs and God will answer all your prayers.
Jesus says: " Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." (Mark 11:24).
May God bless you and your families and friends and protect you in the name of Jesus.
Fr. James.

Dear Members and friends of St. Peter's Anglican Church,
The peace of the Lord be always with you.
" ...I KNOW MY REDEEMER LIVES.."
"25 I know that my redeemer[a] lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth.[b] 26 And after my skin has been destroyed, yet[c] in[d] my flesh I will see God; 27 I myself will see him with my own eyes—I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!"
Do you know your Savior who lives in Heaven? Job gave his personal testimony that he knew his Redeemer lives and his heart was yearning to meet with his God.
Jesus said: "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." (John 14:1-3).
Is your heart yearning to meet with Jesus? May God bless you with your families and friends and protect you in the name of Jesus Christ , Our Lord and Savior.
Fr. James.

Dear members and friends of St. Peter's Anglican Church,
The peace of the Lord be always with you.
GOD CLEANSES US FROM ALL SIN.
In Isaiah 1:18 we read: “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool."
Are there sins in your life that you think that God cannot forgive you? No matter what you have done, God has promised to cleanse you and make you as white as snow.
Hebrews 8:12 says 2 "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."
Jesus came to seek and to save the lost.(Luke 19:10).
May God help us to believe in His forgiving mercy and grace in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Dear Members and friends of St. Peter's Anglican Church,
The peace of the Lord be always with you.
GOD RESTORES.
Our God is full of mercy and love for his people. When God's people suffer He suffers with them and He comes down to save and to restore what has been destroyed.
In Joel 2:25-27 we read: 25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. 26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. 27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed."
Whatever you are going through, call upon God and He will deliver you and restore what has been lost.
Jeremiah 33:3 says: 3 ‘"Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’"
May God bless you with your families and friends and protect you in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord,.
Fr. James.

Dear Members and friends of St. Peter's Anglican Church,
The peace of the Lord be always with you.
NEVER GIVE UP PRAYING.
In Genesis 32:24-28 we read: 24 So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. 25 When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. 26 Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.” But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.” 27 The man asked him, “What is your name?” “Jacob,” he answered. 28 Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel,[a] because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.” Jacob wrestled with the angel of God all night and the angel said to him " Let me go for it is day break." But Jacob said to the Angel, "I will not let you go unless you bless me." God blessed Jacob because he did not give up. He struggled with God all night until God blessed him.
Have you been praying to God and your prayer has not been answered? Do not give up . Keep on praying and God will answer your prayer.
Jesus says in Luke 11:9-10: 9 “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."
May God bless you with your families and friends and protect you in the name of our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.

Dear Members and friends of St. Peter's Anglican Church,
The peace of the Lord be always with you.
THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH ( HABAKUKKUK 2:4).
In Habakkuk 2:4 we read: "...4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith."
What is faith ? Hebrews 11:1-4 says: 11:1 "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. 4 By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead."
The people who believe in God have confidence in him and have assurance that God will do what He has promised no matter what happens. They live by putting their complete hope and trust in God.
Psalm 37:5 says : “Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass."
May God bless you with your families and friends and protect you by the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Dear members and friends of St. Peter's Anglican Church,
The peace of the Lord be always with you.
GOD AND WEALTH.
Where does your wealth come from?
In James 1:17 we read: "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."
God is the giver of all good wealth. People therefore should trust in God who is the Giver of all good things.
Psalm 146:5 says: 5 "Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God:"
No matter what God has given us we should always know that we are stewards of God's wealth and we should share it with other people who are in need.
The rich man in Luke 16:19-31 went to suffer in hades not because he was rich but he did not give food to Lazarus who was in need.
Jesus says in Mark 8:36: " What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?"
Let us trust in God and share what He has given us with those in need as God's good stewards. God is the Giver of all wealth and we are His stewards.
May God bless you with all your families and friends and protect you in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Dear Members and friends of St. Peter's Anglican Church,
The peace of the Lord be always with you.
THE POWER OF PRAYER.
Have you ever experienced the power of prayer?
Prayer makes people live in peace and godly lives.
In 1 Timothy 2:1-4 we read
1." I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers,
intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people
— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may
live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior,
4 who wants all people to be saved and
to come to a knowledge of the truth."
God forgives and heals his people through prayer:
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves
and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then
I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
(2 Chronicles 7:14)..
God is waiting for the prayer of his people:
15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears
attentive to the prayers offered in this place.
May God help us to pray peace and godly life both in our families
and the world at large.
In Jesus Christ our Lord.
Fr. James Kibe Karanja.
